Here is an example of how the brain fog/lack of concentration/fibrofog episodes of my illness limit my functionality.

I had a very simple task for today: mail a copy of a letter I had received to another person.

The post office is next door to my apartment complex. The library, where I can make a copy, is one block away. I find, address and stamp an envelope for the letter. Then, I go to the car. When I get to the library, I pick up the letter and notice that I have forgotten the envelope. How could I have forgotten it? Addressing and stamping it was the last thing I did. I had intended to circle the block and mail the letter, and then go to the local bookshop and pet the cats. But now I must go home and find the envelope. I make a copy of the letter. I return to the car (yes, I drove, because I cannot even walk the block up and back anymore), intending to take a moment to search for the envelope again...perhaps it fell onto the floor. I often blank out and miss things.

Like how I blanked out upon returning to the car. Somehow instead of searching for the envelope or going to pet cats...I go home. As I am taking off my coat, I remember I was supposed to mail the letter (you understand I am NOT doing a lot of errands or anything...just driving around one block, park, copy, post, cats). And I could not organize this into a completed task.

The blanking is lack of concentration, I'm told, and would probably be why my doctor doesn't want me to drive more than 15 minutes from home. I am not sure if she thinks I might never find my way back...or if, like me, she's concerned that I might blank out and injure myself or someone else. I should note that I am usually with someone in the car and I will pull over if I feel unable to stay alert or if I have pain, but I sometimes blank on what has just happened. It is a memory retrieval issue, not a sleeping at the wheel thing. At least, I believe that is what it is.

I look for the envelope inside. It is not there. I look outside again. It is not there. I have lost the envelope which is addressed and stamped...somewhere inside my home or car or on the way TO my car. The journey to and from the library is not part of my memory so I can only try to deduce what might have happened to the envelope. I call the library, but I do remember that I checked the car before I got out to make the copy...and there was no envelope. The brain fog has eaten my errand for the day. I am now exhausted and must wait until tomorrow to try again to mail a letter. At least that copying it part is out of the way. Provided I can find the copy tomorrow, of course.

COSTUMING PEEPS-
You guys, where can I get some non-scratchy wide lace to use for the sleeve flounces on an 18th century gown? I hate the stuff I used for my Lia red gown and I want something softer for my Madame de Pompadour. Doesn't have to be a perfect match, but something pretty and soft. I'll probably need to go downtown at some point, but I thought I'd look online first if you guys have any suggestions.

RE: MARKER TUTORIAL. I found my FLIP camera, so I guess I can put it on my gorillapod? (... hmm... wonder where I put that...) so when I'm not all sarsy anymore, I'll do that!

Still dizzy, but I'm feeling better and my brain is functioning, which is nice. I hate feeling useless! For a few days there I couldn't concentrate, read or draw, which is pretty irritating. Anyway, on the way up, I guess, thanks for the well wishes, you guys!

Am I the only bothered by the fact that they "recast" the faithful dog in Shaun the Sheep? What happened to the original one color dog? I mean, I know he's just claymation, but I am worried that he was "sent to the farm"...rolled out flat with a rolling pin and then reshaped into some shrubbery or some such.

Yes, Dog 2 will never been loved by Shaun the Sheep if Dog 1 is still out there somewhere...suffering (as only clay shrubbery can suffer).

I've tried telling myself that this is still Dog 1 only with a winter coat grown in thick and lush. But he has booties and you don't grow booties in for the winter. I cannot accept this Dog 2 until I know what has become of Dog 1. What's the story?

I stole this from [info]unfolded73 , because it looked interesting and apparently I am going to post two or three times a day for the rest of 2010, or something. Anyway, I decided to do this based on the fics I posted in 2009, because many of the fics I posted in 2009 were written in 2008, and there are several fics written in 2009 that haven't been posted yet, so it seemed easier just to do this based on posting date.

A comment [info]catsfiction  left on my previous post about my fanfiction quiz highlighted for me this sentence in the result it gave me:

"OOC is blasphemy, canon is everything."

I've been pondering this. Canon and I parted ways a long time ago, and yet I've never really thought my Doctor and Rose are "OOC." Am I off here? Is everything that departs from canon considered "OOC"? If you take characters and stick them in situations they'd never be put in in canon, does that automatically render them out-of-character? Why aren't they still in-character, just in a non-canon situation? Or maybe my characters are so different now from the canon characters they would, because of the sheer mass of non-canon situations I've thrust them into, that they are inevitably OOC because they've forked too far away from canon?

Am I just confusing myself entirely? My head, it's killing me...

Apparently, this is a night for memes. I stole this from [info]dqbunny , and I'm not sure it's entirely accurate. Why can't I explore a character in depth and create new characters? Tyrannical quiz....

Your result for The Fan Fiction Personality Test...

The True Fan

OOC is blasphemy, canon is everything.

Once you fall in love with a movie, book or TV series, you are loyal like an old dog. You take fanfiction quite serious and use it as a substitute after the canon ran out.

You are probably a walking dictionary of your favourite fandom and you are picky about what you write and read. The closer to the "real thing" fanfiction is, the more you like it.

You rather explore a character in all depth, see new sides and learn more about them than creating new characters or mix up the situations they are in.

Snagged from [info]starlightmoonla , because it looked like fun.

Ask me one fandom-related question in the comments. This can be fandom specific, general, or about fandom/lj stuff/fic writing/etc. in general. Favorite character, favorite moment, unpopular opinion, something about a fic of mine... whatever. Wackiness encouraged.

SIDENOTE: "The Proposal" (with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds) was actually pretty cute you guys. (even though Sandra, my love, needs a sandwich) Ryan Reynolds is actually kind of awesome (I love his reactions to stuff, great facial acting) so apparently I need to see more movies with him in it cause he was awesome in Wolverine, too. Suggestions welcome. Also. I L U, BETTY WHITE.

guyyyysss.... what color should my arbor be? metal, white, wood-colored?
needs to have a seat.
I think I prefer ones that are arched on the top (not flat or pointy)

I'm gonna cover it in a pale white-ish roses with pink roses behind it.
I'm thinking woodcolored and arched.

guuuuh, going back to bed now.

...like we need a new theme for the LJ...and I need something to post about other than Doctor Who.

I know it will be hard for some of you to see me let go of the reins like this. You are used to the daily pony posts and you are asking yourself..."What about Gum? Will you ever finish it? And shouldn't that Wild Geese sequel see the light of day? And don't you have something to say about RTD? Something really cutting about his talents or personality or manner of eating asparagus?" Well,... Jeremy Brett will always be my Sherlock Holmes. I read the books repeatedly when I was young and he's one of my favorite fictional characters.

However, the new Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law version is a fun ride. More than that actually, as I was expecting it to be "only" a fun ride. It's really actually very charming. I loved how the city was shot... it almost felt like it's own person. And they kept enough of Holmes misanthropic nature that I was happy, even if he wasn't "MY" Holmes. (could have done without some of the gross-out moments, though... but even so, I really enjoyed it.)

and we already knew that I needed a fuchsia bustle gown, didn't we. (and we already knew that Mitch would look hot in period suits.)

PS, I'm sick sick sick and has the brain damage.

Title - A Song He'd Heard Before (1/1)
Author - [info]earlgreytea68
Rating - General
Characters - Ten, Rose, OCs
Spoilers - Through S2
Disclaimer - I don't own them and I don't make money off of them, but I don't like to dwell on that, so let's move on. (Except for the kids, they're all mine.)
Summary - Bad Wolf, from the Doctor's point of view.
Author's Notes - I owed many people many incentive ficlets from the Support Stacie auction months ago. Here is the first of them, won by [info]tzikeh , who was also the winner of the main Support Stacie fic. For her prompt, she pointed me to her comments on my fic request post, one of which was Rose's Bad Wolf scene in "College" from the Doctor's point of view.

Because it's only a brief ficlet, this is unbeta'd.
